In a show of solidarity in the face of the economic crisis caused by the Covid-19 pandemic, Burger King Mexico asked to buy from McDonald’s.

Burger King made an unusual request of his customers: to buy from rival McDonald’s.

Through a message on its social networks, the brand operated by Alsea encouraged its customers to order food from other restaurants, some of them under its own domain, such as Domino’s and Vips, but also from others from different companies, such as KFC. El Califa, La Casa de Toño, and Little Caesars.

We never thought we would ask you to do this, but restaurants that employ thousands of people really need your support right now,” Burger King said.

Without saying it explicitly, the hamburger chain referred to the economic impact that the Covid-19 pandemic has caused.

The crisis is of such magnitude that the National Chamber of the Restaurant and Seasoned Food Industry (Canirac) estimates that 1 in 4 restaurants could close their doors permanently.

“So if you want to help, continue to pamper yourself with their delicious meals through home delivery and take-out at the restaurant or over the counter. We know that ordering a Whopper will always be the best, but ordering a Big Mac isn’t that bad either, ”noted Burger King.
