To confirm this case, it is necessary for the Institute for Epidemiological Diagnosis and Reference (Indre) to carry out the genetic sequencing of the patient’s samples, to demonstrate that the infections were caused by different strains of the virus.

The young radiologist is a beneficiary of the IMSS, who tested positive for coronavirus on June 9 and had symptomatic and outpatient management, was negative on the 29 of the same month, and was discharged for virological cure.

When presenting the operational symptoms of a suspected case of Covid-19, a sample was taken with a swab at the General Hospital of Guaymas, which was processed by PCR at the State Laboratory of Public Health, where on October 15, SARS infection was confirmed again -Cov-2.

Since he is a beneficiary of the IMSS, his family members decided to transfer him to Hermosillo to receive care from his health institution. It is known to be stable and under medical surveillance.

Salud Sonora has both samples of the case, both the first and this second confirmation, so it agreed with Indre to send them for genetic sequencing of them and confirm reinfection.
