Resources will be allocated in 2021 to promote tourism in Sinaloa

With a view to reactivating tourist destinations in Sinaloa, resources from the 2021 state tourism budget will be allocated for the promotion of the different state’s destinations.

Culiacan, Sinaloa. Óscar Pérez Barros, State Secretary of Tourism, reported that the state budget will be focused on promoting tourism in Sinaloa.

He explained that during the following fiscal year, resources will be applied for the beautification of all tourist infrastructure, connecting large cities with safe roads, bicycle paths, lighting, paving, and painting of facades, but through a heading that is contemplated in public works and not in tourism.

He reiterated that the tourism budget does not include a cash figure to carry out this work, since what will be sought is to include the promotion of tourism in all regions.

“The federal government is using all their tourism budget for the Maya train project, but here in Sinaloa we are convinced that all these magical, stately towns, beach and mountain destinations are the complement of the tourist offer of Sinaloa and we are going to continue promoting our state, “he stressed.

The State Tourism Secretary underlined the importance of the connectivity of destinations to promote the economic recovery of the sector, especially after an impact as important as the closure of non-essential activities due to the health contingency of COVID-19 that left serious effects and it is in the process of reactivating the different destinations in the state.
