Major floodings and more to come for Colima

Colima, Colima.- The National Meteorological Service predicts that in the next 48 hours “heavy rainfall” will continue to be recorded in the State and alerted the authorities of the State Civil Protection System of Colima to take security and citizen protection measures.

The SMN also predicted heavy rains for Chiapas and Tabasco; For Colima, Guerrero, Jalisco, Michoacán, Morelos, Oaxaca and the south of Veracruz, very heavy rains are expected.

Because of the rains, there is a risk of landslides, overflowing rivers and streams and flooding in low-lying areas.

The SMN announced that the circulation of the Tropical Depression Seventeen-E and the entry of humidity from the Pacific Ocean will cause very heavy rains in Colima, as well as in Jalisco, Michoacán Morelos, and Nayarit.

But floodings were registered on Sunday, September 20, in the vicinity of Colonia Nuevo Mileno 4, south of the capital of Colima, where the taxi driver with economic number 8426 from the Niños Héroes site was rescued before he was swept away by the rising river that runs through the place.


Also in this place an old model Ford pick up truck had to be lieterally fished out of the waters of the rising of the river that collapsed road traffic, and swept away cars, trees, and other objects.
