alisco, Mexico – Amber Beverage Group has acquired agave fields in the Los Altos de Jalisco region of Mexico as it aims to supply its brands with “enough blue agave raw material to ensure the production of our own tequilas.”

The 220-hectare fields are filled with one to three-year-old agave plants that will be used to support the operations of tequila producer Fabrica de Tequilas Finos.

Amber initially acquired a stake in Fabrica de Tequilas Finos in 2016 and now owns the company outright. Financial details of the purchase have not been disclosed.

The 220-hectare fields in the Los Altos de Jalisco region of Mexico are filled with one to three-year-old agave plants that will be used to support the operations of tequila producer Fabrica de Tequilas Finos.

The ABG brand is home to spirits such as KAH Tequila, Rooster Rojo, Cenote, Don Camillo, Zapopan, AC/DC Thunderstruck and Villa One tequila.

Amber Beverage Group CEO Seymour Ferreira said: “Having our own agave fields demonstrates our commitment to expanding our presence in Mexico and to growing our share of the global Tequila market overall.

“In five years, we will be able to supply our own brands with enough blue agave raw material to ensure the production of our tequilas and even broaden our services for private label projects, such as American singer and songwriter Nick Jonas’ Villa One Tequila which is only just starting to show its full potential.”
