Mexico.- The Secretary of Foreign Relations, Marcelo Ebrard Casaubón, reported that 567 Mexicans have died abroad due to Covid-19, of which 566 have been in the United States, with New York being the place with the most deaths with 448.

“We have experienced the most difficult situation in New York, in New York, the consulate has been reinforced to be able to give attention,” said Ebrard during today’s morning press conference with President Andrés Manuel López Obrador.

As of Monday afternoon, there was an official record of 1,434 deaths in Mexican territory, due to the Covid-19 coronavirus.

Ebrard Casaubón explained that in addition to the 448 people who died in New York, 32 died in California; in Illinois 26; in Colorado 11; in Wisconsin, eight; in New Jersey and Washington, seven respectively.

While in Pennsylvania five died; in Georgia four and in Indiana four more; in Michigan, three, as in Texas; and one case respectively in Iowa, Kentucky, Maryland, Massachusetts, Nebraska, and Utah. Outside of the United States, there has only been one case in Peru.

Regarding coronavirus infections, he also noted that in the United States of America there are 154 cases of people who have requested support from the Mexican Embassy, ​​with New York being the site with the highest number of cases, with 91, while in other countries of the World, the number of infected is 49.

The Mexican foreign minister also detailed that 10 thousand 547 Mexicans have been repatriated: 539 from Africa; 135 from North America; 5 thousand 178 from Latin America; 734 from Asia-Pacific; 3,775 from Europe, and 186 from the Middle East.
