Badiraguato, Sinaloa.- The President of the Republic, Andrés Manuel López Obrador, accompanied by the Governor Quirino Ordaz Coppel, and the municipal president, Lorena Pérez Olivas, went to this Serrano municipality to supervise the progress of the work on the Badiraguato highway- Guadalupe and Calvo.

The event was held with very few guests, even the number of reporters was limited, attending to the recommendations of the healthy distance requested by the Secretary of Health on the occasion of the spread of the coronavirus pandemic.

Upon arrival, after traveling almost three hours by car on pavement and dirt roads to the San Luis Gonzaga syndicate, better known as La Tuna, he received a comprehensive technical explanation of the work under construction from the director of the Centro Sinaloa SCT , José Refugio Ávila.

In his message, President Andrés Manuel López Obrador guaranteed the continuation of this Badiraguato-Guadalupe y Calvo highway and announced that if extra resources are required this year, in addition to the 400 million pesos already budgeted, they will be granted so that the jobs and be able to finish it in 2022.

Taking the beautiful landscapes of hills as a stage and as special guests to the construction workers, he recalled that in the past six years the federal government did not give it priority or resources, but today it will not be abandoned as other projects have been in the country, among they unequipped hospitals and others unfinished, schools and roads, trains, among others.

“This year we have 400 million pesos available, and if more is needed we are going to expand the budget because we are not going to stop, and for next year and the 22nd that we hope to finish the work we have the possibility of gathering the 800 million that it would take to finish the work, “he promised.

In his message, Governor Quirino Ordaz Coppel thanked President Andrés Manuel López Obrador for coming to this place in Sinaloa geography, something he called unprecedented, as it is a road that will mark a before and after for the 100 thousand inhabitants residing in 19 small communities nestled in the mountains, who will now have better communication alternatives and the possibility of better work options in the states of Sinaloa, Durango and Chihuahua.

“That he is here in this work, coming to supervise, is historical, because he comes to see a work that is truly transformative, they will be a before and an after, since the inhabitants of these towns will greatly benefit, they will have job opportunities, there will be commerce and there will be tourism, is the first connection by land that the state of Sinaloa has with Chihuahua, ”he revealed.

The project consists of modernizing the Badiraguato rural road, the limit of the states of Sinaloa and Durango as part of the inter-state axis Culiacán Parral, Chihuahua

To date, 90 kilometers have been modernized at the pavement level and 21 kilometers at the dirt road level, as well as a cumulative investment from 2004 to 2019 of 1,350 million pesos, of which 937 million come from federal resources and 413 million with money from the Sinaloa state government.
