The port of Mazatlán, Sinaloa, saw a significant boost in tourism activity this Monday as two cruise ships arrived, reinforcing the destination’s popularity within the Mexican Pacific maritime routes.
The “Koningsdam” was the first vessel to arrive, docking at 7:30 a.m. from Puerto Vallarta with 2,468 passengers and 1,019 crew members. It was followed an hour later by the “Carnival Firenze,” also arriving from Puerto Vallarta, which carried 3,543 passengers and 1,465 crew members.
Mireya Sosa Osuna, Secretary of Tourism for Sinaloa, highlighted the importance of this double arrival, noting that it is expected to generate a direct economic impact of more than 10 million pesos. This influx of visitors will primarily benefit the local commercial, gastronomic, and service sectors.
Maritime programming indicates that the momentum will continue through Tuesday and Wednesday with additional double arrivals scheduled. By the end of the week, the port projects an accumulated visit of more than 15,000 passengers, with a total joint economic impact exceeding 30 million pesos.
This consistent flow of international visitors is positioning Mazatlán to close out October with high maritime dynamism, strengthening the local economy and solidifying the port’s international standing as a premier cruise destination.
