- October 12, 2026

MEXICO CITY — For cat lovers seeking a unique way to celebrate their feline friends, the Museum of Natural History and Environmental Culture in Mexico City is hosting a special “Black Cat Day” event featuring creative workshops.

The museum will host these sessions over two consecutive Saturdays, offering an opportunity for the public to learn about the unique characteristics of black cats while engaging in hands-on activities. The event, titled “Miaullidos panterosos” (Pantheric Meows), is designed to combine education with creativity, allowing attendees to discover fascinating facts about black cats while crafting themed bookmarks.

The workshops are aimed at participants aged 8 and up and will take place in the Xochiquétzal Library on Saturdays, October 10 and 17, 2026, from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM.

Admission and Accessibility

Entry to the museum has an admission fee of $39 MXN. However, discounted rates are available for children, teachers, and students who present a valid ID, with a reduced price of $19 MXN. In line with its commitment to accessibility, the museum offers free entry to senior citizens with their INAPAM card, people with disabilities, and children under the age of three.

The initiative serves as part of the broader “Black Cat Day” celebrations held throughout the month of October, providing a cultural space for families and enthusiasts to learn more about these beloved animals in a historical and educational setting.
