20-year-old stabbed by former girlfriend in Saltillo

SALTILLO, Coahuila — A 20-year-old man was injured on Monday, July 13th, around nine in the evening after being stabbed with a knife, allegedly by his former girlfriend, in the Bonanza neighborhood of Saltillo.

The victim, identified as Leobardo “N,” suffered a stab wound to his left arm. According to preliminary reports, the altercation took place at around 7:00 PM on Plata Street, following a heated argument reportedly triggered by jealousy.

Immediately after the attack, the injured young man ran out into the street to seek help from neighbors. Residents quickly called emergency services through the 911 hotline to report the violent domestic dispute.

Paramedics from the Mexican Red Cross arrived shortly after to provide pre-hospital care on-site. Once stabilized, Leobardo was transported to a nearby Red Cross clinic to receive specialized medical treatment for his injury.

Officers from the Municipal Police also responded to the scene to take statement details and immediately launched a search patrol in the surrounding area to locate the suspect. However, she had already fled and could not be found.

Authorities stated that the victim must officially file a formal complaint for physical assault with the Coahuila State Attorney General’s Office (FGE). Once the report is filed, state investigators will take over the case to reconstruct the events, identify the suspect’s exact whereabouts, and officially determine legal responsibility.
