Mexican Government touts the country’s strong economy.

This Friday, June 12, during her morning press conference, Mayor Claudia Sheinbaum celebrated that Mexican exports reached a record $709 billion in April.

She also highlighted that the country’s industrial activity grew by 2.1 percent, particularly in the construction sector, according to data from INEGI (the National Institute of Statistics and Geography).

“Industrial activity increased very, very significantly. Look at the industrial activity: in April it grew by 2.1 percent. A very important part of the increase in industrial activity is the construction industry, which grew by more than 6 percent, I think 7 percent. A very good number, indeed. Good news.”

“Exports in Mexico, a record, $709 billion,” Sheinbaumr concluded, sending a message to those who have criticized her government for a lack of results.
