The fifth annual Agave Festival will be held on February 27th and 28th at the El Cid Golf Clubhouse in Mazatlán, Sinaloa, from 12:00 PM to 9:00 PM. This event positions the port city as a leading destination for specialized cultural and gastronomic tourism in northwestern Mexico.
During the press conference on Monday, February 23rd, Celia Jáuregui Ibarra, Undersecretary of Planning, Investment, and Development for the Ministry of Tourism (Sectur), representing Secretary Mireya Sosa Osuna, highlighted the festival’s sustained growth.
The event will bring together artisanal producers of tequila, mezcal, and raicilla from Zacatecas, Oaxaca, Durango, and Jalisco, who will offer spirits made using traditional processes and free of additives. More than 50 labels will be featured in the sensory and educational experience.
The festival director, Norma Bañuelos, emphasized that the goal is to make Sinaloa an epicenter of artisanal gourmet agave.
The program includes gastronomic masterclasses with Mazatlán chefs, traditional cooking workshops, tortilla and salsa making, talks with master distillers, mixology competitions, and live music.
Institutions such as the Madeleine Gastronomic Institute are also participating, strengthening the link between education and professional development.
Mazatlán reaffirms its commitment to authentically Mexican experiences that combine flavor, tradition, and high-value tourism.
