In its most recent publication, the prestigious Forbes magazine, in collaboration with the British website Money.co.uk, revealed its annual ranking of the most beautiful countries on the planet. In the 2025 list, Mexico is ranked fifth worldwide, standing out as one of the most attractive tourist destinations for its natural, cultural, and scenic richness.
The study evaluated more than 50 countries, taking into account geographic diversity, the presence of protected natural areas, coasts, jungles, mountains, and commitment to sustainable tourism. Mexico achieved an outstanding rating thanks to its extraordinary biodiversity, its ancient cultural heritage, and a tourism offering that ranges from paradisiacal beaches to magical towns and world-renowned archaeological sites.
Why is Mexico ranked fifth?
Mexico stands out for its unique variety of ecosystems: from the Sonoran Desert to the mangroves of Chiapas, passing through the Sierra Madre Mountains and the beaches of the Caribbean and Pacific. Furthermore, its historical and cultural heritage—from the pyramids of Teotihuacán to the Mayan ruins of Palenque and Chichén Itzá—make it a country with a comprehensive and deeply enriching tourism offering.
The report also highlights Mexico’s role in promoting sustainable tourism, with initiatives such as the development of ecotourism areas and the conservation of its flora and fauna. This approach has allowed visitors from around the world to enjoy authentic experiences without compromising the country’s natural wealth.
The top 10 of the Forbes 2025 ranking was made up of:
- Indonesia
- New Zealand
- Colombia
- Tanzania
- Mexico
- Kenya
- India
- France
- Papua New Guinea
- Comoros
This recognition is not only a source of national pride, but also an opportunity to continue promoting a conscious tourism model that values the country’s natural and cultural beauty while protecting its resources for future generations.
