Jesús Almaguer Salazar, president of the Association of Hotels of Cancun, Puerto Morelos, and Isla Mujeres, explained that this market segment is decreasing, due to, among other things, insecurity, and because there are no longer travel operators that are dedicated exclusively to promoting Spring Break in Cancun (as used to be done).
23 years ago, in 2002, there were more than 100 thousand spring breakers, who year after year came to the beaches of Quintana Roo and in the lodging centers and nightclubs, were totally sold out.
In the most prestigious hotels and resorts, international artists performed.
But that is a thing of the past.
Still, the city of Cancun is preparing to welcome thousands of students from the United States and Canada for Spring Break 2025, continuing to be the undisputed leading destination in Latin America for this season.
