A man allegedly related to the Cartel Jalisco <nueva Generación was gunned down inside a restaurant in broad daylight.
The Embassy urged American citizens to use caution and avoid the area if possible.
The United States Embassy in Mexico issued an alert after a shooting in Polanco, in which one person was killed. According to the diplomatic mission, the shooting took place in a restaurant inside the Miyana shopping plaza, in the Polanco area, around 4:00 p.m. in Mexico City.
The Embassy urged American citizens to exercise caution and avoid the area if possible. It also reminded them that the State Department’s Travel Notice for Mexico City is classified as Level 2: Extreme caution due to crime.
Among the recommendations given, it is also advised to remain alert and aware of the surroundings, keep a low profile, and be aware of updates through local media.
