The Editor in Chief of a web portal, identified as Adriano Bachega, was killed when he was driving on the busy Lázaro Cárdenas avenue before reaching Río Nazas, on the border of Monterrey and San Pedro municipalities.
The events were reported on Tuesday, December 3, around nine in the morning, while driving west after armed men intercepted the victim and shot at the moving vehicle.
The gray BYD car, a recent model with license plates 45S-224 from the state of Nuevo León, was left across the avenue near the central median strip.
The events generated a strong security deployment that lasted for hours at this point in the south of the city, forcing a total closure in the direction from Monterrey to San Pedro.
Adriano Bachega had Mexican nationality.
The victim was reportedly the head of the website known as Diario Digital Online, and was also a business consultant and speaker.
