An armed group attacked a Chiapas journalist in his own home, fortunately, he survived the attack.
Ariel Grajales, a journalist in Chiapas, was the victim of an attack by an armed group inside his home on August 21.
The director of Villaflores.com.mx, a media outlet that dedicates its content to reporting on the municipality with the same name, was shot with a firearm while he was at home.
Unofficial reports indicate that relatives of the journalist took him to a hospital where he is reported to be in serious condition, while the State Attorney General’s Office has begun the corresponding investigations.
On social media, it was revealed that Grajales had recently reported the collection of protection money in Frailesca.
Chiapas is one of the states most affected by the violence caused by the fight for positions between organized crime groups.
