The tragedy occurred early on Saturday, July 13th, at kilometer 62 of Highway 57. Another minor under 15 years of age was also seriously injured.
Around 3:00 in the morning this Saturday, July 13, a family that was traveling on Highway 57, at kilometer 62, was attacked with bullets by agents of the National Guard, the incident left a dead 9-year-old girl and another minor under 15 years old injured, confirmed the San Luis Potosí prosecutor’s office.
According to unofficial information, the two minors were traveling with their parents in a red Nissan Sentra vehicle with plates from the state of Tamaulipas.
They accuse that the family was intercepted by a National Guard unit, which opened fire on the vehicle without prior notice, causing the immediate death of the 9-year-old girl and leaving her brother injured. The National Guard patrol car number 24132 was responsible of this homicide.
After the attack, rescue teams arrived at the scene, and the medical service was notified to remove the body.
The state Attorney General’s Office became aware of the incident and began the investigation file to determine or attribute responsibilities. The National Guard has not commented on the matter.
This is an example of the lack of training and the incompetence of the National Guard, a law enforcement corporation created by president Lopez Obrador.
