Mexico’s Stock Exchange shares lower at close of trade

Mexico equities were lower at the close on Friday, July 5th, as losses in the S&P/BMV Industrials SelectS&P/BMV Telecommunication Services and S&P/BMV Financials sectors led shares lower.

At the close in Mexico, the S&P/BMV IPC lost 0.56%.

The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P/BMV IPC were Regional SAB de CV (BMV:RA), which rose 1.09% or 1.51 points to trade at 139.61 at the close. Industrias Penoles Sab De CV (BMV:PEOLES) added 1.07% or 2.64 points to end at 249.14 and Grupo Financiero Banorte (BMV:GFNORTEO) was up 0.55% or 0.81 points to 148.37 in late trade.

Biggest losers included Controladora Vuela Compania de Aviacion SAB de CV (BMV:VOLARA), which fell 3.45% or 0.40 points to trade at 11.20 in late trade. Coca-Cola Femsa SAB de CV (BMV:KOFUBL) declined 3.42% or 5.25 points to end at 148.41 and Megacable Holdings, S.A.B. De C.V. (BMV:MEGACPO) down 2.90% or 1.33 points to 44.60.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones by 132 to 101 and 13 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.

Gold Futures for August delivery was up 1.19% or 28.30 to $2,397.70 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August fell 0.70% or 0.59 to hit $83.29 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract fell 0.74% or 0.65 to trade at $86.78 a barrel.

USD/MXN was up 0.07% to 18.09, while EUR/MXN rose 0.21% to 19.61.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.52% at 104.54.
