Among the victims of the confrontation between alleged members of organized crime in the municipality of Chicomuselo, is a student from the Colegio de Bachilleres.

A total of 11 people died as the result of a confrontation between organized crime groups, recorded this Monday night in the Nueva Morelia ejido, municipality of Chicomuselo, Chiapas, reported the State Attorney General’s Office.

Residents told El Heraldo de Chiapas that the people who lost their lives did not belong to any of the criminal groups that dispute the power of the territory and that among the victims was a student from the Chiapas High School College.

Through a brief statement, he indicated that he has already begun the corresponding investigations against whoever or whoever is responsible for the homicide of these people.

The Interinstitutional Group headed by the State Attorney General’s Office through the Prosecutor of the Public Ministry of Chicomuselo, carried out the removal of the bodies, conducting a medical examination of them, and carrying out the identification procedure of corpses with the next of kin.

To guarantee peace in the area, investigations are carried out, so the Interinstitutional Group carries out patrols in the region to establish responsibilities.

It was last Thursday that violence was reactivated in this area of the Sierra, where residents reported that one of the cartels destroyed three “monster” vehicles, but also caused fires in abandoned houses in the communities of Nuevo Morelia, San Francisco, Las Palmas, The Rosary and Las Brisas.

While in Chicomuselo the electricity service was interrupted for several hours.

Meanwhile, on the outskirts of the Piedra Labrada and Lázaro Cárdenas communities, criminal groups are fighting from various points on the hill.
