New leads on the murder of a Jalisco high-ranking police officer in a cafeteria

ZAPOPAN, JALISCO.- The third highest-ranking officer of the Zapopan Jalisco Police Force, identified as  Carlos Manuel Flores Amezcua, lost his life due to gunshots on November, 13th, at the entrance of a cafeteria in the Colonia Lomas del Seminario, located in the municipality of  Zapopan, Jalisco.

Around 10 in the morning, in a business located on Avenida Patria, at the intersection with Ludwig Van Beethoven, neighbors and workers heard several gunshots.

According to the first police reports, after the deafening roar, people saw a man lying in the aforementioned premises, who was apparently attacked by criminals who arrived and escaped aboard a red Nissan X-Trail SUV and a Honda CRV. of the same color.

Paramedics from the Municipal Medical Services confirmed that the victim was dead; they found him lying face down among traces of blood and glass from windows damaged during the attack.

The Zapopan Police force reported that one of the two vehicles allegedly used in the crime, the X-Trail, was abandoned at the intersection of Popocatépetl and Mixcoatl, in the Ciudad del Sol neighborhood.

No arrests have been made in relation to this execution.
