In Benemérito de las Américas at least 40 homes were damaged by the floods.
Families from the municipality of Benemérito de las Américas were evacuated by elements of the state’s Civil Protection and the Secretariat of National Defense due to the floods that occurred due to the intense rains caused by the passage of the Cold Front No. 8.
According to Civil Protection, 40 homes were affected by the floods, so they were transported by boat to temporary shelters located in the municipal seat.
The flooding in the homes of the Flor de Cacao Ejido was caused by the rise of the Chixoi River due to the maneuvers that were carried out at the hydroelectric plants in the neighboring country of Guatemala.
Likewise, in Chicomuselo, work was carried out to verify the highway sections of the municipality, which were also affected by the rains of Cold Front Number 8.
It is worth mentioning that for this Thursday the National Meteorological Service predicts that low pressure channels will extend over the west, center and southeast of the national territory, this combined with the entry of humidity from both coasts and instability at high levels of the atmosphere, will cause heavy occasional rains in areas of Chiapas, Guerrero and Oaxaca.
