Internet use gains impact with the arrival of social networks

Internet access in the world is essential and in the case of Mexico, it is still under development to ensure that people in the states can access this technology anywhere in the territory.

Under this scheme, in the country during 2022, 25.8 million homes were registered with internet access (68.5% of the national total), either through a fixed or mobile connection, indicated the National Survey on Availability and Use of Information Technologies.

Regarding the greater use of products, the cell phone was one of the technologies with the greatest penetration among the population since the survey estimated that, in 2022, there were 93.8 million users of this technology, 8.3 million more than in 2019.

The states with the greatest internet access

According to what was published by the National Survey on Availability and Use of Information Technologies in Homes (ENDUTIH), the country has 78.6% of the Mexican population (93.1 million people) with internet access.

As for the states with greater development to have access to this technology, the states are as follows:

Baja California with 89.8% internet access

Mexico City with 89.7% with internet

Aguascalientes with 86.9% internet access

Nuevo León with 86.1% with internet

Sonora with 85.9% internet access

Colima with 85.3% with internet

Baja California Sur with 84.7% internet access

Tamaulipas with 84.6% with internet

Querétaro with 84.1% internet access

Quintana Roo with 83.6% with internet

Of these people with the ability to connect to the internet, the percentage of women aged 6 years or older who connected to the internet was 78.1%, while 79.3% of men in the same age range used the internet during 2022.

However, in 2022, the age group that concentrated the highest percentage of internet users was 18 to 24 years old, with a participation of 95.1 percent.
