The Mexican Hotel Association of San Cristóbal de las Casas demanded that the governor of Chiapas, Rutilio Escandón, “to live in peace and security, respecting the rule of law.”
In a statement, he stated: “It fills us with concern to see how the state prevails with terror and you only tell us, as is your custom, that the entity is the safest, where only good people live.”
He questioned the Morenoist president “if nothing happens, why is the government palace always kept cordoned off and full of security? Why, when he comes to San Cristóbal, do they cordon off three blocks around him and not allow anyone to approach him? “Why does organized crime terrorize the state and kidnap entire populations?
He warned that “tourism is ending, and many companies are going bankrupt; Tell us what we are going to do, because you, in this time of government, have not been able to solve the problems of the state and your failure to do anything has affected all of us citizens, some by having to close their companies and others by being left unemployed.”.
He asked the governor to answer, “what business owners should do,” because we are tired of asking and demanding without any response. Why do you continue to ignore the problems of our state?
