Magical Towns of Querétaro will strengthen their presence in the US market

Querétaro, Qro. With the objective of strengthening the promotion of the seven Magical Towns of the state in the United States market, Querétaro will be present in the second edition of the International Fair of Magical Towns, which will be held in Los Angeles, California, from September 22 to 24.

Promoters of the entity’s Magical Towns, including tourism service providers, associations and local public servants, will participate in the event, confirmed the Secretary of Tourism (Sectur) of the state.

According to the state agency, one of the purposes of the flea market is to project Mexican towns as a tourist alternative for the country, through the presentation of traditions, customs, culture and tourist destinations.

During the three days, representatives from the seven destinations in the state that have the Pueblo Mágicos distinction will attend, including Amealco de Bonfil, Bernal (Ezequiel Montes delegation), Cadereyta de Montes, Jalpan de Serra, Pinal de Amoles, San Joaquín and Tequisquiapan.

This weekend, in addition to spreading the attractions of the state, it is planned to create business ties with American tour operators, in addition to encouraging sales of Queretaro crafts in the neighboring country.

For the exhibition of destinations, the entity will have a 27 square meter shelf to exhibit the characteristics, culture and attractions of the Magic Towns. A nine-square-meter space will also be installed to display local crafts.

The International Fair of Magical Towns will be held at the Shrine Expo Hall exhibition center, where in addition to the state pavilions, there will be a gastronomic and artisan area, as well as business meetings, presentations, a cultural agenda, among other actions to promote the attractions emblematic of the Mexican towns, explained the Ministry of Tourism of the Government of Mexico.

According to the federal SECTUR, California is the main issuer of American tourists to Mexico, in addition to being the entity with the greatest air connectivity to the country.

In 2022, the first International Tianguis de Pueblos Mágicos was held in Barcelona, Spain, which was attended by 72 destinations that carry this distinction and 14 states, among which Querétaro was not present, therefore, this will be the first time that the central entity participate in the international event.

Querétaro arrives at the international flea market after recovering pre-pandemic tourist activity from 2019, in the middle of the current year, when it even exceeded the data prior to the Covid-19 pandemic by almost 10%, according to SECTUR.
