Older adults have certain financial support from the National Institute of Older Persons (INAPAM), such as the Welfare Pension that they receive every two months and is deposited on their Banco del Bienestar card, which aims to improve quality of life of older adults. However, a new additional benefit has recently been announced that will be available to them starting September 25.

Due to the financial support, older adults have access to the INAPAM card, which provides them with discounts and benefits in a wide range of services and establishments. These benefits include discounts on public transportation, clothing stores, restaurants, airline flights, and pharmacies. In addition to discounts, the INAPAM card offers access to training, free medical services, recreational activities, courses and shelters, all designed to improve the quality of life and well-being of older adults.

New benefit for older adults starting September 25

To access the discounts and benefits of the INAPAM card, older adults must be 60 years or older at the time of requesting it. However, some benefits, such as courses offered by the institute to improve the quality of life of older adults, are available to the general public. In this case, INAPAM has announced a cycle of talks in collaboration with Telmex, owned by Carlos Slim. These talks focus on the inclusion of older adults in technology, providing them with opportunities to learn and participate in the digital world.

According to the National Institute of Older Adults (INAPAM), next Monday, September 25, 2023, a series of talks titled ” Migración y Vejez para Personas Adultas Mayores Migrantes” will be held through TELMEX Videoconference. This event aims to address the challenges and experiences of older people who have migrated and offer them valuable information and support in their aging process in a migratory context.

The new benefit for older adults, which consists of a series of conversations, will take place from 10:00 to 12:00 pm aimed at the general public, therefore, space is limited. If you are interested, you can register at the following link. In addition, on September 18, a course on “Gender and Old Age” will also be offered.

Despite certain concerns about the possible disappearance of financial aid for seniors with an INAPAM card in 2024, so far, the program continues to operate, even with the digitization of new cards. It is important to note that it is not necessary to change the current INAPAM card, unless you wish to renew for a more recent one.
