Xalapa will have a very Mexican cultural week, check out the activities

The Veracruz capital is filled with culture and tradition to commemorate the national celebrations, for this it has prepared “Vicario Madre”, a play that evokes citizen responsibility in historical events, as well as its cultural week, full of events alluding to Mexicanness. 

The youth of Leona Vicario from the perspective of playwright Pedro Allende can be enjoyed this September 16 at 12:00 and 7:00 p.m., with the presentation of “Vicario madre, Leona de la patria”, a staging that leads to viewers to reflect on their responsibility as citizens in historical events.  

In addition to this show, which will take place at the J.J. Herrera, the cultural week in Xalapa begins this Monday at 11:00 a.m. at the Casa de Xalapa Museum with the talk “Ancient Museum and Institute of Anthropology of Xalapa” by teacher Isabel Lagarrica Attias. 

In addition, at 5:00 p.m. in the auditorium of the Municipal Initiative of Art and Culture (IMAC), the Tomar la calle Collective will inaugurate the photographic exhibition “Xalapeños Moments, the beauty of everyday life”; and at 6:00 p.m. at the Xalapeño Recreation Center (CRX) the screening of the feature film “Chavela Vargas, The Interpreter, Legend” is planned as part of the “Mexican Identity” film series. 

For September 12 at 6:00 p.m., the CRX will be playing the film “Frida.” 

On September 13 at 5:30 p.m. in the IMAC lobby, the exhibition “Los Aguas Aguas” of Xalapa for the World will begin; at 6:00 p.m., the Sanfilippo Dance Academy will hold the Stage Screening Showcase at the J.J. Theater. Herrera; and at 7:00 p.m. at the CRX the feature film “Sunú” by Teresa Camou will be shown within the framework of the Mexican Contemporary Film Series. 

Also, at 7:00 p.m. in the Central Courtyard of the Municipal Palace, the Xalapa Municipal Orchestra will offer the Gala Concert ¡Viva México!, within the framework of the celebration of the National Holidays. 

On September 14 from 5:00 p.m. in Xallitic will be the “Mexican Night in the Magic Neighborhood” with a Tribute to Chico-Che and Rigo Tovar, Folkloric Ballet, Mexican Opera, Almas del Falsete Gema and Ricardo, the Municipal Orchestra of Xalapa; as well as cultural lottery, dynamics, games, kermesse, snacks and more. 

For its part, at 6:00 p.m. at the Museum of Veracruzana Music the exhibition “Los Joao Homenaje” will be inaugurated and at the CRX the Clothing Exhibition “La China Poblana, history of a symbol” will begin; and at 7:00 p.m. at the CRX, the Pauta Nueva Orchestra will delight those present with the musical show “Para México con amor.” 

On September 15 at 5:30 p.m. at the J.J. Theater. Herrera, DuckFizz, Atenea se Muió and AlvBye will be presented; and on September 16 at 12:00 and 5:00 p.m., it will be the turn of the play “Vicario Madre.” 

On September 17 at 12:00 at the Veracruzana Music Museum, Orbis Tertius will lead the recital “Notable Mexican Women Composers”; In the IMAC Auditorium, the First Folklore Meeting “Danzando entre Flores” will take place and at 7:00 p.m., the Xalapa Philharmonic Orchestra will offer the “Fiesta Patria” concert.
