PUNTA MITA, NAYARIT (August 11, 2023) – Personnel from the Secretariat of the Navy in Nayarit carried out the rescue of three foreigners who were adrift aboard a vessel.

Mexican Navy personnel acting as the Coast Guard provided assistance to a catamaran-type vessel while it was sailing approximately five nautical miles (9.26 kilometers) west of Punta de Mita, Nayarit.

The catamaran vessel named Forlo, with three American individuals on board, departed from Cabo San Lucas, Baja California Sur, destined for Cruz de Huanacaxtle in Bahía de Banderas, Nayarit.

However, at a certain point, it drifted and lost propulsion due to hydraulic system failures.

Fortunately, Mexican Navy personnel acting as the Coast Guard provided the corresponding assistance to the American tourists on the catamaran and were able to bring them back on shore safe and sound.
