Trade authorities from Canada, the US and Mexico will meet next week in Cancun

Canada’s Minister of Commerce, the US Trade Representative, and Mexico’s Secretary of Economy will meet next week in Cancun.

The meeting takes place at the center of the controversy after measures adopted by the Mexican authorities regarding the use of transgenic corn, which differ from the US and Canada.

The meeting was announced in a statement by the office of the United States Trade Representative (USTR), which reported that the head of the agency, Katherine Tai, will be at the Cancun tourist center on April 6 and 7. July to participate in the talks.

The governments of the United States and Canada have begun consultations within the framework of the USMCA trade agreement also around differences in the areas of energy and mining.

Tai will hold a trilateral meeting with Mexican Secretary Raquel Buenrostro and Canadian Minister Mary Ng, with whom he will also have bilateral meetings, according to USTR.
