The Mexican anthem was heard in Shanghai, China. The women’s compound archery team won the gold medal in the World Cup for Mexico!

Andrea Becerra, Dafne Quintero, and Ana Sofía Hernández won the gold medal after beating South Korea 226-230, made up of Oh Yoohyun, Song Yun Soo and So Chaewon.
The Mexicans took advantage of the nervousness of the Asians, in particular what was done by Yoohyun who could not reach ten in any of her shots.

The Mexican athletes had the necessary consistency to beat the tough Korean team and win the Gold.

Dafne Quintero denied that it was a simple duel.

“It is our first season as a team together, we are going for more victories, we are not satisfied, we want an Olympic Gold Medal in Tokyo,” she said at the end of the competition.

“ Korea is an incredible team, we had to shoot well to beat them because they are a very competitive team”, Andrea Becerra mentioned.

“It is my first time in a final, and I won it here in Shanghai, it is an incredible experience, I am very happy and the result makes us very proud,” added Ana Sofía Hernández.

With this result, Mexico was placed first in the world ranking in the category of compound bow, followed by Korea and Turkey which ended up in third place.
