The Felipe Ángeles International Airport (AIFA) transported, between March 21 and December 31, 2022, 912,415 passengers, but middle or upper class, who are the main users of AIFA.

Middle-class people, who live in the State of Mexico and Hidalgo, are the main users of AIFA, of which 4 out of 10 travelers prefer to arrive at the airport by private car.

However, middle-class people also prefer to arrive at the Santa Lucía air terminal by taxi. 1 in 5 passengers use this means of transport. Meanwhile, 1 in 16 travelers use the Mexibus to get to AIFA.

It is important to mention that the Suburban Train, whose route will be from Buenavista to Santa Lucía, is expected to be ready by the end of 2023. Travelers who want to use this means of transport to get to AIFA will have to pay approximately 76 pesos.

Reasons why they use AIFA

According to an AIFA survey, travelers decided to use this air terminal because it is the closest to their homes, this being the main reason.

The survey indicates that for 35% of travelers, AIFA was the best option over other air terminals such as the Mexico City International Airport (AICM) or Toluca.

Another reason why users use AIFA is because the cost of tickets is more affordable, and it also offers direct flights to the destinations of their choice.

Finally, the AIFA survey revealed that the monthly income of people who use this air terminal is up to 29 thousand pesos, that is, 2 out of 3 passengers who used this terminal belong to the Mexican middle class.
