The federal government declared an area of 83 thousand 819 square meters of public utility for the execution of Section 6 of the Mayan Train Project in the Municipalities of Tulum, Felipe Carrillo Puerto, and Othón P. Blanco, in Quintana Roo.
This area corresponds to seven privately owned properties that the federal authority requires to make the construction of Section 6 possible, which extends for 255.8 kilometers of electrified double track, from Tulum to Chetumal.
“The expropriation includes the constructions and installations that are found in real estate and that are part of the property,” stated the Secretary of Agrarian, Territorial, and Urban Development in a decree published on Tuesday, March 28th, in the Official Gazette of the Federation.
“The Ministry of Agrarian, Territorial and Urban Development proceeds to the immediate occupation of the assets that are the subject of this expropriation”, the statement says.
Back on March 3rd, the federal government expropriated 137 thousand 622.43 square meters, corresponding to 10 properties for the passage of the Mayan Train in the Municipality of Solidaridad (Playa del Carmen).
