Valladolid, Yucatan (January 20, 2023).- A Chinese tourist was able to recover his cell phone and two French visitors were arrested for the theft of their mobile phone.
The aggrieved tourist went to the Public Security Directorate and asked for help from the agents since he said that while he was in the Suytun cenote, they took a blue iPhone 13 Pro Max cell phone from his belongings.
The person affected indicated that he could track his phone through GPS, for which he was approached by a patrol car and taken to the main park, Francisco Cantón Rosado.
Once inside the park, the complainant activated the alarm sound to find his device and identified a couple of tourists who had the cell phone.
Asking them to return it, the foreigners took an impertinent attitude claiming that the cell phone was theirs, so the police arrested JJB and CHVS.
Once at the Public Security Directorate, the affected person stated that he would not file a formal complaint before the State Attorney General’s Office (FGE) and that he only wanted to recover his mobile device. So his phone was delivered to him.
