In a video that circulates on social networks, the Municipal President proposes to expose the personalities of drug trafficking leaders.

A drug trafficking museum could be possibly installed in Badiraguato, said Municipal President José Paz López Elenes.

The Mayor of Badiraguato pointed out in a video circulating on social networks that, given the construction project of the museum in that municipality, this issue cannot be ruled out.

“We cannot deny our history, we have to recognize it and we are going to work on that basis,” he said during the video.

“It is possible that we can have a drug trafficking museum, we are not closed to the idea, we are going to listen to all issues, we are a government that listens to all voices, we are a government that is going to push for economic development to reach the municipality and that we manage to overcome this stigma of drug trafficking by pushing economic development to favor the municipality,” he said.

During the video which lasts less than a minute, the Mayor pointed out that he is still not clear about what characters or “big personalities” could be inside this museum.

“I still do not have a clear picture of what could be found there, we are going to listen to the specialists of the museums so they can guide us, but we are not closed to any proposal, if they guide us, we can come up with a good project. If a Narco-Museum is going to benefit the people of Badiraguato, we can also promote the initiative from the government”, he continued.

On May 9th, this year, the Governor of the State of Sinaloa Rubén Rocha Moya announced the start of this work in Badiraguato, which is aimed at promoting tourism in this municipality. According to the information of the work presented on the page of Compranet.sinaloa.gob.mx the work should be delivered approximately on December 20, 2023.
