Teachers dismissed from the Prepa Online program demonstrate outside the National Palace

The new head of the Ministry of Public Education (SEP) will be received today by a demonstration of dismissed teachers from the Prepa en Línea-SEP program who demand an end to job insecurity, that they are reinstated in their positions and that unjustified dismissals cease.

The demonstration, which will take place at 7:00 outside the National Palace, will spread to social networks with the hashtag #PrepaEnLíneaPRECARIZA. Likewise, English teachers will raise their voices for debts of up to six months of salary.

The objective, expressed by the conveners, is that the new secretary and President Andrés Manuel López Obrador know the most urgent demands of teachers and attend to them.

In the case of Prepa en Línea-SEP, at least a thousand advisors and tutors have been fired due to the hiring modifications that the secretariat has made in order to eliminate outsourcing, but in the end, those affected exposed deepened the precariousness with quarterly contracts and unjustified dismissals.
