An explosion was recorded on Saturday, July 2nd, in a building located on the corner of Luis Moya and Avenida Independencia, in the Historic Center of Mexico City. Black smoke could be seen coming out of a window on the seventh floor of the building located a few blocks from the Mexican Foreign Ministry.

Firefighters and police officers arrived at the scene and asked the curious to let the emergency services operate.
Circulation on Avenida Independencia was closed. Police officers cordoned off the area and closed down the street for cars and pedestrians.
