POLOTITLAN, ESTADO DE MEXICO.- A public transport van overturned on Saturday, June 18th, on the Mexico-Querétaro highway, at the height of the municipality of Polotitlán, located north of the State of Mexico, after hitting a tree.
The accident was recorded at kilometer 126 of this highway, also known as Autopista 57, where emergency services were transferred, as well as elements of the municipal and state police.
According to the official report so far there are at least 13 people killed in this accident.
Paramedics from Civil Protection and Federal Roads and Bridges (Capufe) helped the victims after motorists and residents alerted them.
The area was cordoned off and flagged by elements of the National Guard.
