Mexico is regarded as a special destination and is open to global travelers. With a mix of modern and ancient civilizations, amazing beaches, and beautiful culture, there is a lot you would want to experience. We have put together five amazing things you should try out in Mexico.

Go on a summer vacation

Number one on our bucket list is a summer vacation with your friends. What’s a summer without the gushing feel of the season’s warmth?  The amazing plains of Metropolitan Mexico City boast fascinating sights that give you immersive experiences that can light up your summer. The metropolis has a host of fascinating spots that annex cultural attractions, beaches, and nightlife. Some of the best places include; the infamous waterfront Mayan ruins in Tulum, which submerges a historical site into a beach life exposure. Craving diverse kinds of seafood and a lush of summer’s goodness, watch as the brilliant Mexico sunsets smoothers over the Playa del Carmen beach. A summer vacation would definitely live on in your memory for years to come.

Dance the salsa

Salsa dance is all about attitude. A quintessential Mexican dance that is resplendent with a mix of rhythm, variations, and a fuse of personal ingenuity. This Latin dance offers you a great opportunity to meet with like-minded people and expand your network. A meet-up in a salsa club is the way to go. You could practice your dance moves or learn new moves and beginners are always welcome. You simply have to flow with the rhythm and observe the twists and turns.

To be honest, dancing Salsa is not about a flawless execution but a daring experience. You’ve got to step out of the shadows and move those happy feet. Check out the center of Mexico City for some of the nation’s brightest salsa spots. Book that weekend getaway and ease off that stress.

Go Flamingo

These pink water-loving tropical birds are the signature tourist sights on the west coast of Celestun. From November to April – the fall and winter months – these swaddling birds troop out in their tens of thousands. That’s some world’s largest natural pink in one place! The flamboyance – the collective name for flamingos – moves together, and the scenery is magnificent. Take with you some binoculars and an excellent camera to capture the imagery. For an amazing experience, you can tour the lagoon on a private boat which takes you closer and lets you have a feel of the region’s natural beauty. Fun fact: Flamingos do not blink. Safe to say, they are watching your every move!

Fly in a Hot Air Balloon

Flying in a hot air balloon is definitely one experience you should have. The flight experience is often thrilling as you float through the air. The hot air balloon ride is incomparable to a plane experience but you get to feel the gentle stream of air winding around you. For first-timers, you may feel quite nervous, but the balloons are safe, and you cannot fall off. Put on light clothes and comfortable shoes as your ride may last 3 – 4 hours.

Where else should you have this sky-high adventure other than over the Archaeological Zone of Teotihuacán? During this flight experience, you get to see the magical city of San Juan Teotihuacan. You will witness the rays of the early morning sun that light up the valley of Teotihuacan. The top view of the beautiful landscape and the mysterious pyramids is impressive. Don’t forget to pop some champagne at the end of your flight. It’s an iconic event you do not want to miss.

Trek the Chiapas jungle

Mexico’s jungle of Chiapas is the 5th on our amazing bucket list. The jungle’s green is home to the Lacandón indigenous people. Deeper into the rainforest are gorgeous waterfalls and lore of the Maya ruins. The Selva Lacandona jungle is in the southern area of Chiapas.

It is home to some of the most amazing wildlife animals, and the warm-humid jungle climate sets the tone for a memorable adventure. The place is filled with wildlife like the toucans and the scarlet macaw. What’s more exciting is the possibility of you seeing a jaguar.

The jungle helps you disconnect from the modern world and gives you a feeling of connection with nature. For a more enriching experience, you can sleep over in one of the camps. The jungle lifestyle may seem rustic and wild, but you get to witness its ecotourism, the Mayan culture, and its customs. There are over 20 camps, each offering to take you on an excursion through wildlife. Don’t forget to trek the jungle trails for an impressive exposure to the Lacandona landscape.

It all begins with a desire, then you take it a step further by planning. For a more enriching experience, book that trip with family and friends. The more, the merrier!
