Oscar Leggs kicks off the CABO “Pelagic Triple Crown of Fishing 2022” tournament


The municipality of Los Cabos is consolidated as one of the best tourist destinations for sport fishing.

Los Cabos, BCS, June 03, 2022.- With a prize of $500,000 dollars and the participation of 37 boats, the “Pelagic Triple Crown of Fishing” fishing tournament began in the early hours of this Friday, June 03, where the municipal president Oscar Leggs Castro and the municipal delegate Raymundo Zamora Ceseña, gave the starting shot of this competition that will take place until June 05 for the capture of species of tuna, dorado, and wahoo.

“We are working with the three orders of government so that the tournaments continue to be a success and the main attraction for locals and foreigners, since our economy depends on approximately 90% of tourist activity, that speaks of a great commitment and we have to work together. coordinated way to carry out this type of event, give them the facilities and that everything develops as planned and without setbacks; In Mexico we have a paradise and it is called Los Cabos”, said the mayor.

In this sense, the municipal delegate Raymundo Zamora Ceseña, expressed the importance of starting the season of sport fishing tournaments, which contribute to the economic activation of the Sanlúcar port, since fishermen from many parts of the world are received, to whom the best attention is offered so that it continues to be the preferred destination to enjoy its beaches and natural beauty.

For his part, the coordinator of fishing tournaments, Clicerio Mercado Hernández, stated that “Pelagic Triple Crown of Fishing” has a presence in Costa Rica, Panama, and Los Cabos: “We continue to be a destination with a magnet and an angel that positions us as one of the best at the national level and especially when it comes to sport fishing tournaments we are number one”, he mentioned.

Similarly, he reported that a series of state-level fishing tournaments are planned for the rest of the year, such as: Bisbee’s de Buenavista, Hotel Association Tournament, Bisbee’s Los Cabos Offshore, Bisbee’s Black & Blue, Los Cabos Tuna Jackpot and Orsan Fishing Tournament.

To conclude, during the starting shot of the “Pelagic Triple Crown of Fishing” the assistance of the III alderman, Héctor Fabián Ceseña Ceseña; the municipal director of Human Resources, Monserrat Anahí Marron Castro; the representative of the Government of the state of Baja California Sur in Los Cabos, Carlos Castro Ceseña, as well as municipal and delegation personnel of the XIV Administration.
