Andrés Manuel López Obrador pointed out that his opponents, those who oppose the fourth transformation, make use of “pseudo-environmentalists and their spokesmen” to mount a campaign against the Maya Train.
The president said that in “1,500 kilometers of railway only 100 hectares will be impacted, most of them Acahuales.”
“However, at the same time 200 thousand hectares are being reforested; Three large natural parks [18,000 hectares] will be created and rows of flowering trees will be planted on the sides of the railway, such as Guayacán, Maculí, and Flamboyán, ”the president wrote on his Facebook account.
Before his arrival in Quintana Roo, groups of activists in the state have claimed that the recent work on the train has destroyed part of the virgin jungle of Playa del Carmen.
However, according to the Constitution, prior to the consultation for the revocation of the mandate, which will take place on March 10, the dissemination of any government achievement, as well as government propaganda, is prohibited.
