Mexico drew USD$31.6 billion in direct foreign investment in 2021
MEXICO CITY, (Feb 21, 2022) – Mexico drew an estimated $31.6 billion in direct foreign investment in 2021, up 8.7% from the year before, a preliminary estimate by Mexico’s economy ministry showed on Monday.
The data showed close to 40% of investment went to the manufacturing sector. The United States accounted for 47.5% of the spending, followed by Spain, Canada, United Kingdom, Germany and Japan.
