From January to September, Tlaxcala received 228.5 million US dollars in remittances

The behavior in the arrival of remittances or economic gains sent by Tlaxcalans living in the United States of America (USA) has a positive trend, impacting the economy of families, since from January to September the state received 228.5 million US dollars.

The Bank of Mexico said that according to the studies they carry out, remittances support families in the expenses of food, health, education, housing, starting a business, and in the face of the Covid-19 pandemic in economic unforeseen events.

The institution specified that Tlaxcala received 59.1 million dollars in remittances in the January-March quarter of 2021, while in April, May, and June the figure went up to 78.8 million; and for July, August and September the total was 90.6 million greenbacks, which adds up to 228.5 million US dollars.

The Bank of Mexico reported that Tlaxcala was ranked 28th among the country’s states in terms of remittances during the months of July, August, and September 2021 and they represented 0.66% of the national total in that period.

He added that the municipalities that received more resources were Apizaco, Tlaxcala, Zacatelco, Tlaxco. Chiautempan, Nanacamilpa, Calpulalpan and Huamantla, Teolocholco, Nativitas, San Pablo del Monte, among others to a lesser extent.

The Bank of Mexico added that in January 2022, they will be issuing the balance of remittances for the October-December 2021 quarter for Tlaxcala and the entire country.
