Sunwing canceling flights from Northern Ontario to Cancun


Sunwing is canceling its flights from North Bay to Cancun and from Sudbury to Varadero for the winter’

Earlier this fall, Sunwing officials told Travelweek they were excited to return to the north.  

Flights from North Bay to Cancun, Mexico, were scheduled to begin service between North Bay and Cancun will operate Thursdays from Dec. 16, 2021, until April 14, 2022, and between Sudbury and Varadero on Fridays from Dec. 17, 2021, until April 15, 2022.

Jack Garland Airport was notified Monday that Sunwing will not be flying out of the North Bay airport this season.

“We’re excited to be returning to Sudbury and North Bay this winter and offering northern Ontarians seamless vacation experiences under our wing,” Andrew Dawson, president of tour operations for Sunwing told Travelweek

“Our seasonal flight services from Sudbury and North Bay have been consistently well-received over the years. With convenient flights from their regional airports, travelers will be able to spend less time getting to their destination and more time soaking up the sun in paradise.”
