Playa del Carmen. -A woman of foreign origin drowned off the coast of Playa del Carmen after the strong waves prevented her from leaving the Caribbean Sea.
The unfortunate event occurred in the federal maritime zone with Calle 4 in Playa del Carmen, around 4:30 in the afternoon.
According to preliminary information, the woman had to be taken out of the sea by her relatives and upon reaching the shore they realized there were no signs, so they requested the support of an ambulance.
The Red Cross arrived at the place, who confirmed that the woman unfortunately no longer had vital signs.
Faced with this situation, agents of the Tourist Police cordoned off the area awaiting the arrival of the expert services personnel of the State Attorney General’s Office (FGE).
