Mazatlán, Sinaloa.- The coordinator of the Civic Court, Martín Iván Martínez, rejected that there is an increase in the number of offenders arrested, especially the homeless, on the day that the tourist cruise “Carnival Panorama” arrives.

He gave an example that currently, this Wednesday morning there were only offenders, two for allegedly throwing debris on a tricycle and one surprised on top of a home.

He clarified that the sweep is done by the Public Security patrols and they are only in charge of referring the offenders at the time, but in relation to the operations it is Public Security.

” If at the time we have learned of these situations, it is not that a sweep is carried out, but what they do is an operation that seeks the safety of citizens, when they see that type of people who walk on the street, people who have a bad appearance in the sense that they are doing improper things, what you do is call their attention, ask them to leave and at the time the person becomes haughty so they refer them here, in those cases, but already in those cases, them, Public Security is in charge of carrying out the operation ”, explained the municipal official.

He ruled out that on the day of the arrival of the tourist cruise there is an increase in offenders, because now with the pandemic the health of both colleagues and citizens is sought.

For his part, the Secretary of Public Security, Commander Juan Ramón Alfaro Gaxiola, rejected the removal of people who are on public roads.

Between 10 and 15 homeless people have been removed daily in the last 5 weeks by the Tourist Police, after being accused of causing acts of nuisance, mainly in the Malecón area.

Commander Hilario Gutiérrez, commented, the personnel under his charge detain between 2 and 3 people of this type in the areas of Olas Altas and the Malecón.

When we started we took up to 10, 15 a day and lately we detain between 2 and 3 homeless people.

He clarified the detainees are turned over to the Railing Court in the event that among their belongings they carry a knife or bring a prohibited substance.

Many of these people, he said, live in cardboard houses, which are installed between the stone area of ​​the bather’s areas of Avenida del Mar and Paseo Olas Altas, which are demolished to prevent their proliferation.
