There is no increase in people detained, says the coordinator of the Civic Court; there is no operative, clarifies SSPyTM
Mazatlán, Sinaloa.- The coordinator of the Civic Court, Martín Iván Martínez, rejected that there is an increase in the number of offenders arrested, especially the homeless, on the day that the tourist cruise “Carnival Panorama” arrives.
Before the complaint of people who on Tuesday night and Wednesday morning municipal patrols make “a sweep” of homeless people from the tourist area and take them to Barandilla, he assured that it cannot be true.
He gave an example that currently, this Wednesday morning there were only offenders, two for allegedly throwing debris on a tricycle and one surprised on top of a home.
He clarified that the sweep is done by the Public Security patrols and they are only in charge of referring the offenders at the time, but in relation to the operations it is Public Security.
” If at the time we have learned of these situations, it is not that a sweep is carried out, but what they do is an operation that seeks the safety of citizens, when they see that type of people who walk on the street, people who have a bad appearance in the sense that they are doing improper things, what you do is call their attention, ask them to leave and at the time the person becomes haughty so they refer them here, in those cases, but already in those cases, them, Public Security is in charge of carrying out the operation ”, explained the municipal official.
He ruled out that on the day of the arrival of the tourist cruise there is an increase in offenders, because now with the pandemic the health of both colleagues and citizens is sought.
For his part, the Secretary of Public Security, Commander Juan Ramón Alfaro Gaxiola, rejected the removal of people who are on public roads.
” No, it does not exist, if we were to receive a report from a person who is bothering, be it any type of person, we have to go and answer the call made by citizens to 911, but a special operation of any kind is not carried out. sweep or anything like that ”, clarified the Police Chief.
