José Luis Herrera, director of Agrarian Development of Yautepec, Morelos, was gunned down in broad daylight while traveling in his private car.
The 54-year-old official’s truck was intercepted by an unidentified vehicle, whose occupants opened fire. The attack was registered in the cameras of the local C5.
The events occurred during the afternoon of Wednesday, August 25th, reported the Attorney General’s Office of Morelos, who opened an investigation folder to find the person responsible for the death of the official.

So far, no suspects or detainees have been reported for the event.
The members of the Municipal government of Yautepec condemned the incident and demanded that the Governor of Morelos “rectify his strategy against crime, which has not had favorable results for the population, since the beginning of this government, and on the contrary violence is getting worse by the minute during this six-year term”.
