The Mexico City Prosecutor’s Office has obtained an arrest warrant against businessman Carlos Cabal Peniche and his wife, Teresa Pasini Bertán, for fraud.

The crime that the banker allegedly committed is against the Crédito Real company, which gave him a loan for the purchase of Radiopolis, according to different national media.

A year ago, in August, Cabal Peniche and Miguel Alemán Magnani launched an offensive to take control of Radiopolis by force, as the PRISA Group (publisher of this newspaper) denounced then, which owns 50% of the shares of the Mexican radio group.

The alleged fraud that Cabal Peniche is accused of is in the neighborhood of 600 million Mexican pesos ($ 30 million USD), according to the newspaper Reforma.

Teresa Pasini, through the company Nuncio Accipiens, requested the loan to supposedly finance the purchase of the other half of Grupo Radiópolis from Televisa.

That same newspaper reports that Judge Héctor Rojas Pacheco issued the arrest warrants in July and Interpol also issued a red card against the former banker and his wife to be searched in more than 190 countries.

Mexican authorities presume that Cabal Peniche and his wife could be in Italy.
