Hitmen try to assassinate Yucatan businessman

TEKAX Yucatan.- For an alleged settling of scores, hitmen tried to kill the young businessman José Luis Suárez Alemán, 33, who was in the facilities of his ice factory when he was shot in the head, an attack that keeps him between life and death in a hospital.


The injured man is the nephew of Mario Suárez Cabañas, who is an ice businessman and was the municipal secretary in the Tekax City Council from 2004 to 2007, presided over by Pedro Acosta Solís, when he was then a member of the PAN; now he sympathizes with the Morena party. One of the assailants entered the premises, went straight to Suárez Alemán and shot at him for an alleged settling of accounts.


Break into factory


The events were recorded this Wednesday, around 2 in the afternoon, in the ice factory located on Calle 53 between 36 and 38 of the Padre Eterno neighborhood.

The attackers arrived aboard a silver car, which they used to escape.

After the assassination attempt, the hitmen ran out of the establishment, got into the vehicle, and fled with two accomplices. 

The subjects had their faces covered with handkerchiefs, even the one who shot tried to kill a second person, but chose to escape.

The street was closed by the authorities.

Police Mobilization


The event generated the mobilization of state and municipal elements and agents of the State Prosecutor’s Office.
In addition, a search operation was launched for the attackers at the entrances and exits of the city.


Later the authorities reported that they detained the attackers; two individuals from Quintana Roo and one from Chiapas.

Who were they?

They were identified as Ernesto Javier SS, 34 years old and originally from Chiapas; Feliciano RH, 24, from Bacalar, Quintana Roo, and Fernando BR, also from Bacalar, who will be made available to the ministerial authorities.

Medical Air transfer to Mérida


Suárez Alemán was taken first to the General Hospital of this city, but at 4:30 in the afternoon he was transferred aboard an SSP helicopter to Mérida and admitted to a clinic, due to the severity of his injuries.

It was reported that Suárez Alemán’s bullet caused a hole in the left front of his skull.


It was found that the businessman was in poor health, due to a hemorrhage and the injury, which endangers his life in the area where he is located.
