31 of the 50 most violent municipalities are governed by AMLOs party MORENA

Of the 50 most violent municipalities in the country, 31 are governed by the MORENA party, 7 by the PAN, 7 by the Citizen Movement, 2 by the PRD, 2 by the PRI, and one by a mayor without a party, official figures reveal.

Records of the Executive Secretariat of the National Public Security System (SESNSP) reveal that the 50 most violent municipalities concentrate 48.3 percent of intentional homicides that occurred between December 2018 and May 2021.

In that period at the national level, 72,892 files were initiated for the crime of homicide, of which 35,214 occurred only in 50 of the more than 2,450 municipalities into which the national geography is divided.

Based on this information, El Financiero made an analysis to find out who the governing parties in each of these municipalities belong to and to which parties.

Thus, it was discovered that 31 of the municipalities are governed by Morena, even in states that are governed by other parties.

Of these 50, 29 are concentrated in six entities: Jalisco, Guanajuato, Sonora, State of Mexico, Michoacán and Baja California, according to data released by the Executive Secretariat of the National Public Security System.

At the top of the list of the most violent municipalities is Tijuana, Ciudad Juárez, León, Cajeme, Acapulco, Fresnillo, Guadalajara, Chihuahua, Ensenada and Celaya.

The list, published on official sites of the federal government and also released this Monday during the morning conference, by the Secretary of the Navy, José Rafael Ojeda Durán, classifies the municipalities or mayors according to the number of intentional homicides that are registered daily. on average.

Jalisco has six municipalities on the list of the 50 most violent in the country. Sonora has five, the State of Mexico has five, Guanajuato with five, Michoacán has four, and Baja California has 4. Guerrero and Zacatecas are also among the most violent states.

According to the results of the elections of June 6, of the 11 elected governors of Morena, 7 will take charge of 21 of the most violent municipalities.

According to official figures, in those 21 municipalities, it has not been possible to reduce the crime of intentional homicide since 2019.
