This week, the United States Department of State issued recommendations for North American citizens who plan to visit Mexico: one is in relation to Covid-19 and another corresponds to the increase in crimes and kidnappings in some states of the Mexican Republic.

On the one hand, the United States Centers for Disease Control (CDC) reported this week that Mexico is at Level 3. This means that the rates of Covid-19 infections continue to be high, which is why they recommend that the country not be visited.

On the other hand, among the states that ask not to visit due to crime are Colima, Guerrero, Michoacán, Sinaloa, Tamaulipas. In the same way, they have asked travelers to reconsider traveling to other states , including Baja California, Chihuahua, Coahuila, Durango, Guanajuato, Jalisco, Mexico City, Morelos, Nayarit, Sonora and Zacatecas.

“ US government employees should avoid the Mexicali Valley due to the increased possibility of violence between rival cartel factions. The limits of the restricted area are: to the east, the limits of Baja California / Arizona and Baja California / Sonora “

They have also asked that if you must visit Baja California, Nogales, and Hermosillo, it would be better to travel during the day to avoid mishaps.
